My Favourite Indie Magazines

I am a bit obsessed with magazines, I love how you can pick one up when you have a small snippet of time and find something uplifting or inspiring. I also feel very strongly about supporting small businesses, so I mostly read independent or indie magazines. So I thought I would share my favourites.

Lionheart

Lifestyle mag created by Hels, editor and mother living in the West Country.

This magazine is full of amazing illustrations, photographs, stories and interviews, there is so much content & variety that it usually takes me a few weeks to read.

Hels writes beautifully and her articles always leave me inspired. She always interviews a lot of small creative businesses, which I love reading about.

You can buy Lionheart at many independent shops across the country or just head to www.lionheart-mag.com and buy direct.

Hels has also just announced a new magazine for girls aged 4 - 8 called Leopard, which I am very excited about as I am sure Peggy (now 3) will love it!

The Simple Things

Sister magazine to ‘Oh Comley ‘ (which is also great), The Simple Things mag is published monthly and is all about taking time to live well, slowing down and enjoying what you have.

It has a lot of food and recipes alongside interesting articles, crafts and regular features such as ‘my day in cups of tea’ and music playlists on spotify.

The design is always gorgeous and there is something for everyone to enjoy.

You can buy The Simple Things from most supermarkets.

91 Magazine

Created in 2011 by Caroline Rowland the magazine is printed biannually.

91 mag is centred around creative interiors from homes, shops, cafes, studios etc…

It focuses on the people behind creative small business, the makers, designers and independents and reveals their creative lives and inspiration.

I always look forward to getting this magazine and it really motivates me, you can feel the passion behind the creators and people featured, definitely worth a read if you love interiors / creative people.

91 Mag is stocked in loads of independent shops as well as WH Smith. You can also buy online https://91magazine.co.uk/buy
